Ladakh Itinerary

Traveling through Flight

 

Day 1: Arrival in Leh

  • Land in Leh and rest for the day to acclimatize to the high altitude.

Day 2: Leh sightseeing

  • Visit the Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, and the Leh market.

Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley

  • Drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La, one of the highest motorable roads in the world.
  • Visit the Diskit Monastery and the sand dunes of Hunder.

Day 4: Nubra Valley to Pangong Tso

  • Drive to Pangong Tso, a beautiful high-altitude lake that spans across India and China.
  • Spend the night in a campsite by the lake.

Day 5: Pangong Tso to Leh

  • Drive back to Leh and spend the evening exploring the city.

Day 6: Leh to Lamayuru

  • Drive to Lamayuru and visit the ancient Lamayuru Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh.

Day 7: Lamayuru to Alchi

  • Drive to Alchi and visit the Alchi Monastery, known for its ancient Buddhist art.

Day 8: Alchi to Leh

  • Drive back to Leh and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 9: Departure

  • Leave for the airport to catch your flight back home.


This itinerary can be customized based on your interests and the time you have available. Keep in mind that the roads in Ladakh can be challenging, so it's important to be flexible and prepared for any changes to the plan. Also, don't forget to stay hydrated and take plenty of rest breaks to avoid altitude sickness.

Traveling through Motorcycle

Day 1: Delhi to Chandigarh (243 km)

  • Start your journey from Delhi and ride to Chandigarh, a planned city known for its architecture and gardens.
  • Spend the night in Chandigarh.

Day 2: Chandigarh to Manali (308 km)

  • Ride to Manali, a scenic hill station located in the Kullu Valley.
  • Spend the night in Manali and take some time to explore the local markets and cafes.

Day 3: Manali to Jispa (140 km)

  • Ride through the Rohtang Pass and reach Jispa, a small village located on the banks of the Bhaga River.
  • Spend the night in a campsite in Jispa.

Day 4: Jispa to Sarchu (84 km)

  • Ride to Sarchu, a high-altitude plateau located on the border of Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh.
  • Spend the night in a campsite in Sarchu.

Day 5: Sarchu to Leh (250 km)

  • Ride to Leh, the capital of Ladakh, and check into your hotel.
  • Spend the evening exploring the city and acclimatizing to the high altitude.

Day 6: Leh sightseeing

  • Visit the Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, and the Leh market.
  • Optional: Visit the Hall of Fame museum, dedicated to the Indian Army.

Day 7: Leh to Nubra Valley (160 km)

  • Ride to Nubra Valley via Khardung La, one of the highest motorable roads in the world.
  • Visit the Diskit Monastery and the sand dunes of Hunder.
  • Spend the night in a campsite in Nubra Valley.

 

Day 8: Leh to Kargil (215 km)

  • Ride from Leh to Kargil, a town located on the banks of the Suru River.
  • Enroute, visit the Lamayuru Monastery, Magnetic Hill, and the confluence of the Zanskar and Indus Rivers.
  • Spend the night in Kargil.

Day 9: Kargil to Srinagar (204 km)

  • Ride to Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, and check into your houseboat on Dal Lake.
  • Spend the evening exploring the markets and gardens of Srinagar.

Day 10: Srinagar sightseeing

  • Visit the Mughal Gardens, including Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi.
  • Optional: Take a shikara ride on Dal Lake.

Day 11: Srinagar to Gulmarg (56 km)

  • Ride to Gulmarg, a hill station known for its skiing slopes and scenic beauty.
  • Spend the night in Gulmarg.

Day 12: Gulmarg to Pahalgam (148 km)

  • Ride to Pahalgam, a town located on the banks of the Lidder River and known for its natural beauty.
  • Enroute, visit the Avantipur ruins and the saffron fields of Pampore.
  • Spend the night in Pahalgam.

Day 13: Pahalgam to Patnitop (197 km)

  • Ride to Patnitop, a hill station located in the Shivalik Range.
  • Enroute, visit the Martand Sun Temple and the Banihal Pass.
  • Spend the night in Patnitop.

Day 14: Patnitop to Delhi (660 km)

  • Ride back to Delhi via the Jammu-Pathankot highway.
  • End the trip in Delhi.
